The Dahab Diving Safari is a dynamic North Red Sea liveaboard combining legendary wrecks, protected marine parks, and Dahab’s dramatic underwater landscapes. From the iconic SS Thistlegorm and Abu Nuhas wrecks to Ras Mohammed and the Blue Hole, this itinerary delivers the perfect mix of history, drift diving, and vibrant marine life in one unforgettable journey.
SS Thistlegorm
The SS Thistlegorm is the most iconic wreck in the North Red Sea and a centerpiece of any North Wrecks safari. This WWII cargo ship lies upright on the seabed, with motorcycles, trucks, and military supplies still visible inside its holds, creating a fascinating underwater museum.
Today, the wreck is covered in corals and surrounded by dense marine life. Divers commonly encounter batfish, barracuda, giant moray eels, lionfish, and hunting trevallies — making every dive here both historic and action-packed.
Abu Nuhas Wrecks
Known as the “Ship Graveyard,” Abu Nuhas features several famous wrecks, including Giannis D and Carnatic, resting along a coral reef plateau. Their open structures and swim-throughs make them ideal for exploration and photography.
The wrecks are now thriving artificial reefs, home to fusiliers, snappers, bannerfish, octopus, and scorpionfish. Coral growth and schooling fish transform these shipwrecks into vibrant marine ecosystems.
Ras Mohammed
Ras Mohammed is one of the most spectacular marine parks in the North Red Sea. Sites like Shark & Yolanda Reef offer dramatic drop-offs covered in soft corals and sea fans, with excellent visibility and exciting drift conditions.
Marine life is abundant — turtles, napoleon wrasse, massive schools of barracuda, and occasional reef sharks patrol the currents, while colorful anthias and clownfish brighten the reef.
Blue Hole & The Canyon
Dahab’s Blue Hole is world-famous for its deep vertical walls and crystal-clear water. The reef rim is alive with reef fish, groupers, and trevallies, while turtles are frequently spotted nearby.
At The Canyon, divers explore a natural underwater crevice illuminated by beams of light. Anthias clouds, glassfish schools, and vibrant coral formations create a dramatic and uniquely Dahab diving experience.
