From pelagic action to colorful reef life, the Daedalus & St John’s liveaboard delivers some of the Red Sea’s most iconic diving in one seamless journey.
Daedalus Reef
Daedalus Reef is one of the most iconic offshore dive sites in the Red Sea and a key highlight of the Daedalus & St John’s Diving Safari. Rising from deep blue water, the reef features steep walls, strong currents, and exceptional visibility, creating ideal conditions for pelagic encounters. Divers frequently spot scalloped hammerhead sharks, grey reef sharks, oceanic whitetips, along with barracuda and tuna patrolling the drop-offs.
The walls of Daedalus are richly decorated with gorgonian sea fans, soft corals, and black corals, while ledges and overhangs shelter moray eels, lionfish, and schooling reef fish. These dramatic underwater landscapes make Daedalus perfect for exhilarating drift dives and wide-angle underwater photography.
St John’s Reefs
St John’s Reefs form one of the largest and most pristine reef systems in the southern Red Sea and are the heart of the Daedalus & St John’s liveaboard diving experience. This remote area is famous for its coral labyrinths, pinnacles, tunnels, and swim-throughs, offering varied and visually stunning dives across multiple sites.
Marine life in St John’s includes reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles, and dense schools of anthias and fusiliers, with occasional dolphin encounters. The combination of healthy coral formations and calmer conditions makes St John’s ideal for relaxed exploration, scenic dives, and underwater photography.
